17th September 2011 Windsurfing: Felixstowe Manor Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: F4-6 Surf / Sea State: choppy rough Air Temperature: cool Sea Temperature: ok Weather: cool Max Speed: 25.8 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 21.6 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) Arrived 10.30 at my fav location manor end to see Ian Al and Andy M flying off on 6.0M, rigged 7.2 Hellcat / rocket 69. Had 20 minutes perfect then the wind increased and blew me off the water. Shoulda changed down to 6.0 as the others change down. Tried downhaul small fin, got some more runs in but out of control on gybes. Sat out some gusts as lazy to rig another. Maker / Lord Swain turned up, 6.0M spot on. wind was up/down Chris S turned up, rigged 5.0 and the wind dropped under a rain belt and switched off. Chris and Maker sneaked runs in, but, lucky I packed up as it went offshore. Good 3 hrs sail, but water rough, so gybes were erratic and dare not speed. |
